It seems obvious, however the first reality that hits new parents is that they are not just mom and dad. Each day they are creating the foundation of an important relationship with their children. We are the teachers, their leaders, their role models, their future. This responsibility and privilege sends us off on a sometimes delightful and other times difficult journey to create a rewarding family full of love, a love of learning and the foundation that will allow our childrens to lead the life of I want to and never I have to.

For numerous reasons our society has slowly shifted the responsibility of education, mentoring, and even morals to outside of the home. One key reason for this is simply due to the fact that both parents must work full-time to make ends meet, leaving little time to nurture their children in the ways that they would like to. Over a few generations, this not only has become accepted, but even desired. We strongly believe that we as parents should be the leaders and everything outside of the home is a resource that is used to enhance our family's journey.
